FLY, ROBIN!

After having my fun at Sadies, I ate dinner and KO’d until the next morning. I spent my entire day at school and didn’t sleep in any classes that day, so I was muy tiredo.

Six hours of Nyquil-quality sleep had me so pumped to go out and have more fun! I spent the following day at church as a retreat leader for the baby communion kids. The theme was something along the lines of “Jesus is my Superhero” so all of the family leaders dressed up as superheroes! It was so cute! I especially liked Brian’s Cat in the Hat costume, partly because his sister and I were able to convince him to let me draw a nose and whiskers on him with my eyeliner. YOUR POWER OVER LITERATURE HAS NOTHING ON ROBIN GIRL!

I ran out of time and didn’t have any the night before because of Sadies to make my costume, so I borrowed Khanh’s Halloween costume. That SKINNY ASS SLUT! It was so small and short, I decided to wear pants with it instead of the leggings I planned on wearing. I even had to pop a shirt under to keep things PG for the babies.

The kids were adorable, much better behaved than last year’s group. I was so glad of that! Because they listened to my directions and were still enthusiastic, we had a lot of fun. They even drew pictures of me and gave them to me when we were doing the arts and crafts stuff! A couple of my kids even hugged me and told me that I gave them the “funnest day ever” before they left! WOWOWOW! That really made my weekend. Sadies AND good kids? I’m not patient when it comes to children but I guess God came through for me. Thanks, G’!

At the end of the day, the leaders had the dinner that the nuns had prepared for us over some Pictionary. I LOVE NUNS! They were so sweet about it! Sister Loan told us that she didn’t know how to thank us for our work and that providing us with food was the only thing she could think to do for us. Your love is enough, sistah!

I gotta say, that day was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Aside from having so much fun with my kids, I had cousin-to-cousin moments with Jason and had a nice conversation with Peter. LOVELY! Jason and my’s families aren’t very tight and so for us to be this close is amazing. I hope he knows that I was very honored to give him a prayer before he did his speech for the kids. As for Peter! Peter gave me the impression of a bad kid when I first met him a couple years back but boy was I wrong. He’s very passionate about the things he does and has strong values. That talk we had on that walk that was just supposed to be me walking him out to his car was an eye-opener. I hope he didn’t get raped after I left, Stanton can be a scary place.

Now it’s Sunday night and I’ve finished everything I’ve wanted to: my FAFSA, Doyle scholarship, checked my mail for Christy’s response for Linh, and even some homework. BED TIME IT IS!
